GlossGenius' 4th Annual Halloween Contest – The Story So Far
From the frightfully fierce to the ghoulishly glam, here’s a preview of some standout entries in 2021 so far.
It’s that time of year again for our annual #HallowGenius contest! We live for the creativity sparked by the spooky season, so we’re hosting our fourth annual Halloween contest so all you GlossBosses can show off with your haunting good looks.
Over the next week, we’ll be painstakingly picking ten finalists (hurry up and enter) before we open up the floor for fans to vote on the top contenders – three lucky winners will take home our #HallowGenius title and a Vanity Planet Facial Steamer grand prize.

Freddy Kreuger
This homage to Freddy Kreuger comes perfectly paired with a haunting soundtrack that might keep the faint of heart up at night, but if you ask us, this is what Halloween dreams are made of.
Zombie Pop Art
We’ll take this funky fresh spin on zombies over The Walking Dead any day. This look comes from a force to be reckoned with – a triple-threat artist producing killer cosmetic looks, stunning photography, and glowing skin as a makeup artist/photographer/esthetician.
Bride of Frankenstein
[CTA_MODULE]
Just the right balance of glamour and gore, this rendition of The Bride of Frankenstein is the perfect example of bewitching beauty. Not only that, but we love her reminder that we’re all entirely made of flaws stitched together with good intentions.
Spider Glam
There’s never a good time for a spider to be in your hair... unless that creepy crawler is actually a glittering brooch perfectly perched on a web of woven locks. If only it looked this good every time we accidentally walked into a spider web.
Cemetery Gates
It’s no coincidence that this cemetery chic look comes out of a salon called Hair 2 Dye 4 These tresses are vivid with gothic glam, while butterfly clips complete the look with a flutter of otherworldly glitter.
Scream Set
We’re still keeping it friendly, but the claws are coming out in this competition and we’re here for it. This throwback to everyone’s favorite ‘90’s thriller is not only dripping with nostalgia, but it’s showcasing impressive prowess in handpainted execution.
Cruella dePeel
Here, our favorite villain makes an appearance to help clients of Facials with Rachel reveal their refreshed fall faces. We might have trembled at the sight of Cruella de Vil as toddlers, but at this age, somehow the thought of shedding skin seems a lot more appealing.
