Can You Tell Us About Your Role At GlossGenius? 

At GlossGenius, I spearhead “Special Projects” initiatives across the Go-to-Market Team. This basically means tackling big, meaty challenges aimed at accelerating the company’s growth trajectory. What excites me about my role is the opportunity to see things all the way through from strategy to hands-on execution and collaborating closely with a wide range of teams spanning Marketing, Sales, Product, and Design. Most recently, I’ve focused on helping the company think through how we can more effectively acquire larger businesses, and tactically testing and standing up new channels to do so.

What Have You Noticed Is Unique About GlossGenius?

When I was looking to transition from my previous role in management consulting into the startup world, GlossGenius immediately stood out to me. What I’ve found most unique about GlossGenius is how multi-faceted the company is. GlossGenius spans multiple different industries – software, financial services, and beauty and wellness.

Our customers are small business owners that straddle the line between consumers and enterprises. From a go-to-market perspective, this means thinking on dual tracks – engaging in both B2C (business to consumer) and B2B (business to business) strategies and tactics. This diversity is also reflected in our people. We have an exceptionally talented team here with a wide range of backgrounds and skillsets. Ultimately, this means that there’s always something new to learn and explore here!

GlossGenius Is Customer Obsessed. What Does This Mean In Practice?

At GlossGenius, being customer-centric is our guiding principle. For me, it means putting myself in the shoes of our customers to understand their needs, challenges, and aspirations on a deep level. In the current initiative I’m overseeing – where I’m directly engaging with prospects and encouraging them to try out GlossGenius – this “customer obsessed” mindset is critical. By grasping the most important pain points each prospect is facing, I’m able to effectively showcase how GlossGenius can materially benefit their business.

This commitment to our customers manifests in everything we do – it’s about listening intently, empathizing genuinely and solving their problems. Because at the end of the day, our own success is closely tied to the success of our customers!

We Emphasize Moving Fast With Excellence. How Do You Accomplish This? 

In my day-to-day work, moving fast with excellence means consistently asking myself two questions: 

First, “Am I focusing on the most impactful work at this moment?” This prompts me to continually reassess priorities, ensuring that I'm channeling my efforts into making progress on what matters most. 

Second, “Will this work be something I can proudly stamp my name on?” This motivates me to uphold high standards of quality in everything I undertake and produce work that I truly believe can create impact. While the expectation certainly isn’t perfection, embodying the spirit of always putting your best foot forward is something I live by.

What’s Something You’re Really Excited About Work-Wise Right Now?

What excites me the most right now is continuing to test, build and scale different channels to help the company grow and reach more customers. GlossGenius has the potential to become THE market leader in the space and it energizes me to know that I play a role in helping the company get there. 

How Have You Grown Professionally Since Joining Our Team? 

One of the most exciting aspects about my role is tackling new problems that haven’t been addressed by the company before. With no established playbook to follow, this has forced me to become extremely resourceful and cultivate a can-do mentality to overcome any obstacle.

In my role I have also had the privilege to work closely with our Chief Business Officer, Leah Cohen-Shohet. She’s an inspirational leader and an amazing person to learn from. I owe much of my growth and professional development at GlossGenius to her mentorship!
